a. Preliminarily determine the general situation of the pump through the working conditions, such as which series model or whether to consider the material, etc.
b. After determining the series model of the slurry pump, read the performance curve through the flow rate and head to determine the specific model and size of the pump.
c. Read the curve and calculate the power: the parameters that must be known for the calculation of the shaft power of the pump include flow, head, efficiency, and slurry specific gravity; the efficiency (η) is determined by the flow and head, and can be read by reading the performance curve; What cannot be provided can only be obtained through experience. Generally (between 1-2), technical calculations will give an estimated value to calculate the power.
d. Calculate the shaft power, P=m*g*h/η, and its derived formula: P=ρ*Q*H/102η (pay attention to the use of safety factor in actual calculation).
e. Motor power, through the shaft power, the motor power that is nearest and larger than the shaft power is the final motor power.
